As part of Willunga's Digital Dozen, Tom presented his learnings on Tuesday evening, from his participation in the High Speed Broadband Implementation Project.
Twelve Willunga businesses participated in a three-part series of workshops to prime their operations for making best use of the National Broadband Network (NBN).
South Australia's Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology together with the Southern Success Business Enterprise Centre, City of Onkaparinga and Willunga Business and Tourism Association commissioned the series of marketing-based, technology-focused workshops as a pilot program involving 12 local businesses.
Three core areas covered were:
investigating business efficiencies made possible through online technologies accessed via high speed, high capacity broadband.
how to build and maintain an effective web presence
how to incorporate ecommerce technology economically and safely
Participants also received an audit of their current web marketing, five hours of oneon-one mentoring with Steve Davis from Baker Marketing, and a digital marketing plan. Further business advice and support was provided by SSBEC business advisors.
